Hope for the Cities

Hope for the cities was a month of discovery from covenants, rediscovering the Kingdom of heaven on earth, and short nuggets on the early church, and how Africans played a major role in Christianity.   Chesed I discovered a new word, Chesed. Chesed is such a powerful word that cannot be easily described; in short, it’s loving kindness, but it’s way more than that. When you pronounce it has a strong guttural vibration from the back of the mouth. It is supposed to describe a passion that reverberated a type of passion when spoken. This word is used several hundred times in the bible, Hebrew, that is, don’t go and start searching in your NKJV or NIV versions, you will not find it. In essence, this word Chesed brings out the commitment and love of God in many dimensions, especially in covenant making, covenants that started with Adam and went through generations upon generations till it reached Jesus, His new covenant. Blood covenants were God’s way to Chesed on us. Sounds cheesy, righ...

Kingdom Stewardship

Where is your heart? In Matthew 6:21 (NKJV) For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Where is your heart? That is a question that I asked myself this month while reading the book Blessed Life by Robert Morris. Is my treasure in heaven or on earth? Where do I store it? What does this even mean? I have always thought that being blessed is having a successful and rewarding career or business, in part it is, but that is not the full picture. Zoom out a bit, and you must investigate where these blessings come from and what you are doing to access them. Are you living a life of surrender or a life of waste or frugality? Living a surrendered life brings eternal joy and wealth without any sorrow. Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it. This is very true in our day-to-day lives. You see times where families battle in courts for years on end, fighting battles from their fathers on the division of wealth; there is sorrow in these fa...

Local Mission Trip to Meru

Image
Local Mission Trip to Meru, 1st May to 4th May 2025 Day 1, Thursday 1st May  Travel The time had come for the local mission, and I was behind in my fundraising. I posted to all my contacts that I had reached out to support me. They delivered, and I was extremely happy, and God provided this trip fully funded. The next mission is to Uganda, and I fully trust the Lord will deliver on this also.  The Fortified group, which is where I belong, was tasked with the travel arrangements, and we settled for 3 shuttles that would ferry everyone from Nairobi to Meru on Thursday and return on Sunday. Pau was our point lead on the communications with the shuttle service, and I was tasked to relay the information back to the arranging committee. Every action group was tasked with a portion of the arrangements of the mission, from food, accommodation, prayers, final report, and media. At the beginning of the arrangements, it was a bit chaotic, and it felt like headless chickens trying ...

Compassionate Leadership

This month as we tackled the topic Compassionate Leadership through the various sources I was challenged and motivated at the same time, not only to see myself completing this fearless experience but to make a lasting and meaningful change in my life and the life of others. One quote that really got me fired up was in Building People Building Dreams by Tom Deuschle, ‘Stop playing with the turkeys and start flying with the eagles!’   In the video Practical Ministry Skills by Pastor Milton Jumba, he emphasized that we have been given the power of the Holy Spirit because we are saved. With this power and responsibility, we have the authority to operate in the spiritual realm where we are capable of accomplishing all that’s in our heart's desires that are placed by the Holy Spirit. Moreover, we have been given dominion to rule the earth,  Genesis 1:28 (NIV) .“Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the ...

Servant Leadership

True leadership is a journey of surrender and knowing whom I serve. It brings memories of my leadership in the past and reveals my shortcomings as a leader.    Surrendering is the beginning of leadership because if you are not fully surrendered, it becomes a challenge to align your will to God’s purpose for your life. You begin to chase things that are not purposeful and lead a life of unfulfillment. With God as a center point, you not only become content with life, but you also focus on what God intended your life to be. Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who lives, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”     David’s heart belonged to God; his life was a testament to this because he had surrendered all of himself. His life was not perfect, to say the least, but he admitted his faults and let God control his life. A perfect example was ...

Discipleship

Practicing and practically living in discipleship is an effective culture that needs to be spread far and wide to every community or church that wants or is willing to live out the calling that Jesus put out in his great commission, to make disciples of all nations. Matthew 28:19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Discipleship is not a simple process that you just get into and think will be easy to spread around. Discipleship is something that is passed down to you through a discipler, and you learn from him or her and then, in turn, pass it on down to a group of disciples. It starts with the posture of your heart, where you surrender yourself and really let God in and work you through and through. Listening to him earnestly through prayer and fasting, and knowing what he wants for your life (purpose) and how he will use you to fulfill his mission.   Some of the ways to dip your toes into ...

Leadership 101

My mission as a child of God on this earth is to make disciples of all nations. Matthew 28:19 : “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” This is the mission of all Jesus followers, regardless of tribe, nationality, color, race, and even religion. It’s amazing to realize that religion is man’s attempt to get closer to God. Buddhism, Islam, and Hinduism. Wow! A quick search reveals that religions are subdivided into Eastern, Abrahamic, Iranian, Indigenous, New religious movements, Historical movements, and even further subdivided into geographic regions. One would think that once Jesus came and gave us the great commission in Mathew 28:19, that we would be all united into one religion. But who is man, even Christianity has further subdivisions, where then shall we get redemption? The answer is very simple, it’s in Jesus, we all need to be Jesus followers, and that is the only thing that matters, to f...
