Local Mission Trip to Meru

Local Mission Trip to Meru, 1st May to 4th May 2025

Day 1, Thursday 1st May

Travel

The time had come for the local mission, and I was behind in my fundraising. I posted to all my contacts that I had reached out to support me. They delivered, and I was extremely happy, and God provided this trip fully funded. The next mission is to Uganda, and I fully trust the Lord will deliver on this also.

The Fortified group, which is where I belong, was tasked with the travel arrangements, and we settled for 3 shuttles that would ferry everyone from Nairobi to Meru on Thursday and return on Sunday. Pau was our point lead on the communications with the shuttle service, and I was tasked to relay the information back to the arranging committee. Every action group was tasked with a portion of the arrangements of the mission, from food, accommodation, prayers, final report, and media. At the beginning of the arrangements, it was a bit chaotic, and it felt like headless chickens trying to find our way around, but this mission was for the people of Meru, and I believe with the prayer and fasting that we did leading to the mission, the Lord made the chaos into something beautiful at the end.

Day 2, Friday 2nd May

Evangelism

The day had come for evangelism, we also dedicated this mission to the Lord as we had done leading up to the mission by having a dedicated time for prayer between midnight to 6am. Our action group was placed in the 2 to 3 am watch, and each hour of the night was covered for the rest of the days of the mission. The thought that kept crossing my mind was whether I would be able to lead someone to salvation. We were divided into two groups, one group went and did an STL (Spread The Love) at Greenland’s school, the other and, where I fell into, was tasked with going out to the town of Meru to do evangelism. Further teams were formed between 3-4 people and spread to different parts of Meru. Dividing and conquering the town of Meru. Our group consisted of Jane, Tiffany, and Messi. Messi was the local point man and was tasked to take us around the area we were assigned. We reached out to around fifty-plus people, some very receptive but others very nonchalant, “Mimi niko sawa,” “I am ok”. We prayed and encouraged, we gave advice, and really connected with some.

I vividly remember two people at a shop: a young man and a young lady. I was led to talk with them about relationships, and they were indeed dating. I was very passionate about their situation and discussed dating and marriage with them. I told them that if they had planned for marriage, they would gain a lot from being involved in the church and participating in Ndoa. I prayed for them and encouraged them to join the church.

Day 3, Saturday 3rd May

Roadshow

Picture those campaign trucks with open sides and people dancing to loud music blaring from the truck. This is what we rocked up with in Meru, and I was dancing inside!!! There was a pre-planned route, and we went round and stopped in various areas evangelizing and promoting the church. Our last stop was at the market, this is where we did the crusade. We danced, we worshipped, we evangelized, and Ben Bella gave the word. Just before the word was given during worship, I approached a passerby and started to talk to him. I asked him if he would like to get saved, and he said YES! I asked him another two times just to make sure I was not dreaming. I was so happy, and I knew angels in heaven were dancing with me for this salvation.

Day 4, Sunday 4th

Service

The final day was here, and a time to see how many people would show up and if all the hours we spent on evangelism and promoting the church would amount to something. There was a total of sixteen new congregants who joined the church, and we bless the Lord for each and every one.
